An Important Yet Puzzling Event

The time that Tony was at the bakery at five o' clock was pretty important to me. Tony almost told her that he liked her, but that was spoiled when she said that she was going to Rome for a year. I thought it was also pretty puzzling why he didn’t still tell her because when she was in Florida he was thinking of moving up there, and he loved her a lot. Her going to Rome led to Gio, her "European Adventure." Her meeting Gio was also very important. Her going to Rome led to that. I also thought it was weird that she was there at five in the morning although I don’t know much about bakeries.
I think the part where Tony tells Libby a joke about cookies is funny! I think this, because it was very cheesy, but it related back to them. It related to them, because Tony is not good at baking cookies and Libby is. The joke was...  Where do cookies sleep? They sleep under cookie sheets. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, get it? Libby comes back with a joke that says... You know why the cookie went to the doctor, right? Because he was a little nuts. I think that cheesy jokes are funnier that just jokes, that's why I thought that was funny. It also shows their funny relaxed relationship with each other.

Funny Part of the book

I found the part of the book where Tony emailed Libby since she wasn't talking to him and sent her this joke...

I heard a joke today and thought of you... Where do cookies sleep?..... Do you give up? Okay, I will tell you. A cookies sleeps under cookie sheets.

     -t-

And Libby replies...

That was so lame! You know why the cookie went to the doctor, right? Because he was a little bit nuts.

   -L-

I found this funny because it was a really sweet and cheesy joke, but I also found it a little interesting that LIbby wait five months to email back to that? Wow, but it all worked out later on!
When Libby met Gio in Rome was an important part in this story. I think so because it led to Gio eventually coming to the United States because they had  liked each other and kind of pushing Tony and Libby together by making Tony jealous in the bar when he was dancing with her and whispered in her ear. It also led to Libby having a very good friend because even after Libby had a child, she and Gio were still in contact with each other through email since Gio was still in Rome, and Libby in the United States.
I think that the part where Melanie found out that Tony and Libby are getting married is very funny. I think this because when Mel found out, she was mad and thought that Libby deserved someone else but then she thought about it for a minute and then yelled to Libby, "We are going to be sisters now!" She completely changed moods! I think that maybe she is bipolar or she just thought twice! When she first found out, it seemed like she was going to go and beat Tony up for asking Libby that question! After that, she seemed perfectly fine about it and then went straight into wedding preparations and how they will set everything up and the food they will have. How crazy!

Summary of the Book

Libby fell in love with Tony the first time she saw him. He came in the door went to go change into clean clothes, and instantly she was hooked. The first time they ever spent anytime alone was when Mel got sick; they played Monopoly in his room, and Libby won. There first and second kiss was at a Marchetti wedding. They went walking and they ended up under the mistletoe. After that the were at the reception and they faked being on a date to drive a girl away, and shared another passionate kiss. Later, at Libby and Mel's, Libby's best friend and Tony's little sister, graduation party, Libby confessed her feelings for him; he pushed her away even though he liked her too. She didn't talk to, text, or email him for 5 months. She was going to go to New York to be closer to Tony, but after he through all her feelings back in her face she decided that she wasn't going to be in love with him anymore. That she wouldn't get her heart broken by him again.

When Tony finally got her to email him back he decided to go slow; he didn't want to lose her again. They immediately gained back their good friendship. When they both moved back to their hometown for the summer, they spent almost all their time together. Libby didn't think much of the fact that Tony was the one that kept spending time with her considering what happened at the grad party. They went on a couple of dates--Libby not realizing that they were dating. After that he went to tell her his feelings for her one day and before he got the chance to tell her his "big news" she told him hers. She was going to Rome. ROME. His heart shattered into pieces. He couldn't tell her the news now, so he didn't. She went to Rome and found a cute, sweet, funny guy named Gio and they started dating. After being in Rome for a year she came back home. Again Tony and Libby spent a lot of time together. Then there was the annual Marchetti family reunion. Libby hadn't gone to one of those in ages. Mel invited her; then Tony did. She said yes of course because she missed those things. At the reunion Tony took Libby on a walk over a lake. He kissed her, and of course he was interrupted by someone bringing their girlfriend there. He immediately got off of her.

Mel was getting married to John, and she sent an invitation to Gio. Of course he came, and Libby was happy. When he got there she showed him around a bit considering this was his first time in America. Mel, John, Gio, Tony, and Libby all met at one of the local bars later that night. Tony immediately got jealous. Then Libby and Gio went to dance and they agreed to be just friends as Gio knew that Libby still had feelings for Tony. Tony made her sleep at his house. He thought that she would sleep in the guest bedroom while he slept in his, but when they got there and Tony went to show her where she would be sleeping there was a leak that made the bed really wet. She couldn't sleep there, and the house didn't even have a couch yet, so she suggested they just sleep together in his room. He said okay, and went and took a shower to control himself. He was in the shower for a really long time because he knew that if he went out there he wouldn't be able to keep himself under control. He finally came out and went to sleep and when he woke up he realized that his dream that I probably shouldn't talk about was real. He got out of the bed and was about to go get breakfast when Libby woke up and said that she had a dream about Gio. They had sex and the next day he asked her to marry him and she said yes. Then they lived happily ever after the end.

P.S. Sorry if that was a bit long but I just love this book so much and it was hard for me just to make it that short. LOL. :P
