(This is
a specific part of the story). Libby is staying over at Mel's house, but Mel is
sick. Tony didn't want her getting sick, so he let her sleep in his room. He
and Libby play monopoly in his room. The game goes over many days. There are to
ways that the setting affected the mood. First, they were in Tony's room, so it
was easy to talk about stuff. Second, since the game spreads out over many
days, they have plenty of time to get used to spending time alone with each
other, as friends. This part of the story also effected the mood of the rest of
the story.
It looks like in this case, the setting also provided a great place for a major plot point!
